Even though the Springfield Art Museum’s permanent home is under construction (have you seen the renderings?!), they’re still offering a variety of art classes for youth and adults alike!

No matter your skill level, if you’re interested in learning about art, trying out a new skill, or perfecting a specific technique, they have a class for you. See all of the classes available and sign up on their site.

If you love seeing the creativity that lies right here in Springfield, you need to become familiar with the Springfield Regional Arts Council. They are the hosts of Artsfest, First Friday Artwalk, and always have local art up at their home in The Creamery Arts Center. Love the idea of buying art from a local artist? Attend their $100 and Under Market this winter!

While you may think of Wonders of Wildlife as the best aquarium in America (and you’d be right!), you may not think of them when it comes to art.

Did you know that you can paint ocean life at WOW? Imagine this: you’re surrounded by fish and painting what you see while learning from local artists. It’s part art class, part night out, and part behind-the-scenes access to a space that’s usually reserved for the animals.

If you’re an adult looking to take a class with a local artist, check out Studio 55 Arts Guild. You can find a list of artists and information on the classes they offer on their website.

This group also meets monthly for educational programs, sponsors workshops, and organizes exhibitions for the arts community.

Did you know that there are fiber artists in Springfield? These are individuals who create art through weaving, spinning, knitting, felting, bead weaving, and more!

If you’re interested in exploring the world of fibers, join the Springfield Fiber Arts Guild. They meet monthly and offer plenty of creative fiber arts to explore. Visit their website to learn more!

If you’re looking to book a mobile paint party, contact Easel-y Amused! This certified art teacher brings the fun of paint parties right to your doorstep, but they also host public events each month if you’re looking for a fun activity out of the house.

Have you noticed the various sculptures downtown? Odds are they’re there because of Sculpture Walk Springfield.

How about the interactive neon mural on the back of the Fox Theater? That’s them, too! Sculpture Walk Springfield’s vision is a museum without walls with access for all—and we think they do it well.
