My perfect day starts with me waking up in my nest in the Coca-Cola Redbird Roost at Hammons Field. It’s another beautiful day in Springfield, and I start with a healthy meal of spilled ballpark popcorn and hot dog buns. I like to get an early workout in, so my good boy Fetch and I take a walk around Nathanael Greene Park.

Once we’re done playing, I’ll drop Fetch back off at the field to take a nap in the dugout while I head to lunch at Leong’s Asian Diner. After my belly’s full of Cashew Chicken, I like to fly around the city to get some sunshine. I like to perch on top of Hammons Tower to get the best view before heading back to my nest for my daily nap.

It’s almost game time; of course, the Cardinals are playing. I have to get ready to greet all my adoring fans. Just before gates open, I listen to my pump-up playlist, which includes some of my favorite songs like “Fly Like an Eagle” by the Steve Miller Band and “Free Bird” by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

During the game, I make sure to say hi to as many fans as I can while also chirping at the opposing team. When the Cardinals, of course, win, I wave my giant Cardinals flag on the dugout and celebrate with the guys!

Once the day is done, I put Fetch to sleep in his doghouse and back into my nest I go, hoping that I get to do it all again tomorrow.
